Glimpse of Bhutan
Bhutan is often described as the last Himalayan kingdom, where ancient traditions, spiritual wisdom, and pristine landscapes remain deeply woven into daily life. This immersive six-day journey offers a balanced introduction to Bhutan's culture, nature, and wellbeing, combining iconic sights such as Tiger's Nest Monastery with meaningful encounters in monasteries, valleys, and traditional communities.
Based at Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary, Bhutan's first and only five-star wellness-inclusive resort, this experience combines guided exploration with daily wellness rituals, traditional Bhutanese medicine, yoga, meditation, and nourishing farm-to-table cuisine. Designed to create lasting positive change, the journey offers an opportunity to discover not only Bhutan, but also a deeper sense of wellbeing and connection.
Day 0 — Arrival in the Land of Happiness
A Sacred Welcome to Bhutan
Arrive at Paro International Airport, where you will be welcomed by the Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary team before a short transfer to the property.
After settling into your room, begin your Bhutanese journey with a traditional Buddhist transformation ritual, designed to mark the beginning of your stay and offer blessings for the days ahead.
Following a chef-prepared lunch, enjoy a personal consultation with an in-house Traditional Bhutanese Medicine Doctor. Based on this consultation, your wellness journey begins with your first treatment.
The day concludes with a gourmet dinner overlooking the valley.
Day 1 — Settling into Bhutan's Rhythm
Morning | Wellness & Gentle Acclimatization
Start the day with an optional yoga or meditation session before enjoying a healthy à la carte breakfast.
Afternoon | Explore the Sanctuary & Neyphu Valley
Spend the day acclimatizing to Bhutan's altitude and slower pace of life. Guests may choose to relax within the Sanctuary, browse the library, enjoy the infinity pool, or join a guided herbal walk through the wellness gardens.
For those wishing to explore, a gentle hike through the Neyphu Valley offers beautiful views and a homemade picnic lunch surrounded by nature.
Evening | Relaxation & Wellness
Return to the Sanctuary for a leisurely evening, enjoying wellness facilities, nourishing cuisine, and peaceful surroundings.
Day 2 — Bhutan's Most Sacred Landmark
Morning | Journey to Tiger's Nest Monastery
Begin early with herbal tea before setting off for one of Bhutan's most iconic experiences.
Hike through pine forests and mountain trails to reach the legendary Tiger's Nest Monastery, dramatically perched on a cliffside high above the Paro Valley. Along the way, enjoy a packed breakfast while taking in breathtaking Himalayan views.
Afternoon | Discover the Spiritual Heart of Bhutan
Explore the monastery with your guide and learn about its history, symbolism, and significance within Bhutanese Buddhism before returning to the Sanctuary.
Evening | Bhutanese Traditions Under the Stars
Ease tired muscles with a traditional hot stone herbal bath before dressing in traditional Bhutanese attire for a commemorative photoshoot.
In the evening, enjoy an authentic Bhutanese dinner and, weather permitting, stargazing from the restaurant terrace.
Day 3 — High Mountain Passes & Hidden Valleys
Morning | Crossing Chele La Pass
After breakfast, travel to Chele La Pass, Bhutan's highest motorable mountain pass at nearly 4,000 metres above sea level.
Surrounded by prayer flags and panoramic Himalayan views, this spectacular viewpoint offers an opportunity to experience Bhutan's dramatic mountain landscapes.
Afternoon | Exploring the Haa Valley
Continue into the remote Haa Valley, one of Bhutan's least-visited regions. Enjoy a homemade picnic lunch before visiting the historic Lhakhang Karpo temple, believed to date back to the 7th century.
On the return journey, those wishing for further exploration may hike to the secluded Kila Goenpa Nunnery.
Evening | Wellness & Reflection
Return to the Sanctuary in time for dinner and another wellness treatment.
