The Wolwedans Collection
Located in the heart of NamibRand Nature Reserve, Wolwedans is more than a collection of camps. It is a collection of dreams. In this land of blue skies and endless plains you will find beauty to feed your soul, tranquility to clear the mind, and space for your imagination to fly. You may feel completely overwhelmed at first, but then quickly settle into a landscape and immersive experience which is ‘simply out of this world’. When Wolwedans was first set up with four igloo tents back in 1995 by the late Albi Brückner and his son Stephan, they had no idea where the journey would lead. Today, still under the management of Stephan, Wolwedans sports five tourism properties, an active Foundation and the Desert Academy – all carried by a bracing, forward-looking, holistic and, at times, what some people would call a radical Vision, themed “The AridEden Project”. Wolwedans will quietly continue to do its work, contributing in a meaningful way to the conservation of NamibRand, the development of Namibia and its communities, and driving Rural Revival, the building of a Desert Based Economy. Maintaining a healthy balance of People | Planet | Profit, and hence Sustainability, has been in their DNA from the word go. It drives all their actions, Past | Present | Future. It defines their conscious sense of ‘Being’ and, it hopefully inspires a new way (of going about doing business).
