About The Journey
At Muyuna Lodge, the Amazon is not something you simply look at – it is a landscape you move through, listen to and learn from. Hidden along the Yanayacu River within the Tamshiyacu-Tahuayo Reserve, the lodge offers you an intimate base for exploring one of Peru's most biodiverse rainforest regions, far from the busier waterways around Iquitos. Primary forest, black-water lagoons and winding tributaries surround the lodge, creating a surrounding where wildlife encounters can happen in remarkably varied ways, from calm canoe journeys to forest walks after dark.
The experiences that follow take you deeper into this living ecosystem. Travel by boat, canoe and kayak in search of monkeys, sloths, birds and river dolphins, learn about rainforest plants and their traditional uses, spend time with the community of San Juan de Yanayacu, and venture into the forest after nightfall. A night camping beneath the rainforest canopy offers yet another perspective on life here.
Come into the rainforest with us and discover the Amazon through its waterways, wildlife, people and stories.
